This first picture is the Birthday Girl!!! This is my grandmother. She is my father's , mother. She looks so gorgeous. No one would even believe she just turned 70!!! I hope that I am blessed with her ageless genes when I am her age.
This is me and my dad! You can see Lake Champlain, and the Adirondacks in the background! It is really so pretty there.

Here is a picture of Emma fishing with grandpa Dave. He is my grandmother's second husband and not my blood grandfather, but he is awesome! He has been around since I was Emma's age and has been nothing, but good to us!!!

So we are finally back from our vacation. There is no place like home! Don't get me wrong I really enjoy being with my family, but there is something about coming home that is so great! Mostly because I can get the kids back into their routines, we sleep in our own beds, and naps and bedtime seems so much smoother. Nevermind the fact, that eating healthy completely went down the drain. Being my grandmother's birthday we literally had cake every night we were there (she ended up with 4 cakes!) and then went on to a graduation party for my sister with you guessed, more cake. So needless to say instead of loosing weight I wouldn't be surprise if I gained!
The best part of vacation was kicking back and relaxing and being spoiled and cooked for, for a whole week. My grandmother is awesome. Though she still works as a real estate appraiser, she comes home and cooks dinner every night. One thing I noticed about my grandmother is that she never complains about it. She never thinks of herself. She was always worried about us eating. She made us breakfast every morning. We had pancakes, french toast, waffles (real ones) eggs...you name it she cooked it. She was always the last to eat, as she was determined that our bellies be filled to the brim before she would take a bite. And then she would do it all again for dinner. She really is so thoughtful and I have honestly never heard her complain once about it in my whole life. I really wish I could be more like that....to serve my family joyfully instead of having pity parties for myself and being a martyr. I don't want my family to think I am burdened by serving them. Thanks grammie for reminding me of that...and hopefully I can do better to change that about myself.
I think the worst part of the vacation was trying to wrangle an almost 14 month old little boy. Their house is right on the lake and they have a small yard that has a sea wall and then off the sea wall it drops right into the water. Ethan being in the exploring stage always wanted to get down, but would head right for the sea wall. Why is it that kids seem to know what is dangerous and are drawn to it like a magnet. Even before you tell them "no" for the first time it is in them to explore the most dangerous things ever.
I can officially say that Ethan is walking! YEAH! and BOO! all at the same time! LOL! You mother's know what I mean. And forget about eating out.....oh lord it's all coming back to me. 1 yr olds are impossible to deal with just about anywhere!!! Luckily I know that this too shall pass!
Can I just say though that he is the happiest, cutest little boy ever! He may be a handful but I must say he is by far my happiest baby. This child is always full of smiles. He wakes up happy! What joy he brings to our family. Both of us just look at him and are in awe of how incredibly cute and happy he is. I know I keep using the "happy"word, but it's so true. You can wake him up from a dead sleep and he just looks up at you smiles the biggest smile and says "hi" in his cute little high voice. It is just to precious for words.
Now for Emma. She said something so funny the other day. We were here at home and it was cold. It was raining and then for a brief moment it actually started to snow. YES SNOW! Yikes! Anyway, Emma looks out the window all disappointed and says "I thought summer was coming, and I think Jesus is up there now and he pushed the wrong button." It was so cute! In her little mind she pictures Jesus sitting up in heaven on His throne in front of a switch board pushing buttons to control the weather. And because it was May, he slipped and instead of hitting the "rain" button, he hit the "snow" button. Too funny how their minds think. Though who knows, she could be right...though God doesn't make mistakes so if He did push the snow button it was done on purpose! What is that verse...unless you become like a child you will not enter the kingdom of God.
Well I do believe this is the end of this blog! It was very long, but hey I have been gone for a while so there was lots to say.
Until next time....
